📋 Penalties & Accountability
💬 Communication Etiquette
🛠️ Technical Support & Feedback
🌐 Inclusivity & Growth
By participating in this community, you agree to uphold these values. Let’s race fair, grow together, and make Real Rookie Racing the gold standard for sim racing communities.
is community exists so that new racers have a chance to learn and grow in a "safe" environment. There are bound to be incidents, and we know mistakes happen, but that does not mean they can't be avoided.
During the race, all drivers are expected to have ways to see EVERYONE around them. We strongly suggest having radar, a rear view mirror, and a spotter (or crew chief) running during all season events. This will help you figure out how much space and time you actually have.
When you're battling with someone else, it is important to leave each other space on the track. You don't have to leave the door wide open, but you DO have to acknowledge when your opponent gets his foot in it. Consider the amount of time left in the race, and the overall position on the grid when you choose who and where to defend.
If you spin out, be EXTREMELY careful rejoining. We've had numerous crashes during the offseason due to people trying to force their way back onto the grid. Be patient, and wait for a clear opportunity, then get back in the hunt.
When collisions happen, don't sweat it in the moment. We know it is frustrating, but we all need to keep the anger channeled into racing, and not lashing out at each other in chat. If something happens that you feel should be addressed, PLEASE report it in 👮-request-staff channel on the Discord, so it can be addressed for future races. We have eyes in a lot of places, but can't be everywhere. We need you guys to let us know where issues lie with keeping grids clean.
If you blatantly cause a collision, it’s good etiquette to allow your victim to rejoin, before continuing on with your race.
GT7 HUD COUNTDOWN TIMER HAS BEEN BANNED. This has been giving racers an advantage at the lights for far too long, and it's coming to an end. It is EXTREMELY obvious which racers use it, and which ones do not, so be sure to shut it off. THOSE IN VIOLATION WILL HAVE TWO POINTS REMOVED FROM OVERALL SCORE FOR THE FIRST VIOLATION, AND EVENT RESULTS DISQUALIFIED FOR FUTURE VIOLATIONS.
NO MORE RESTARTS. The race is, what the race is. If your response to this is "this is gonna suck", look within and start practicing leaving space for OTHER PEOPLES MISTAKES. It's not just about leaving space for yourself. If you are caught up in any major incidents, be sure to FILE A REPORT in 👮-request-staff , as it is the only way people can be taught and the grids can get cleaned back up.
If you have issues with another racer, or a situation that happens on the track, OPEN A TICKET. Do not verbally, or physically attack the other person. Violators will get a single warning, then be removed from the community. We are all here to improve and learn, and being hostile won’t help that. 👮-request-staff is the ONLY place you should be complaining.
IF YOU ARE DMing PEOPLE COMPLAINTS, we will be far less generous with the warning.
TLDR: don’t be a dick. Incidents happen, especially when everyone’s just trying to learn, and pings high. Deep breaths, a quick report, then back to business.
The only gamepad script that is allowed to be used in RRR races and events is the default gamepad script that comes with CSP called "Gamepad Force" as per the attached image. as we have examined its code and found that it merely smooths out inputs, it does not add its own.
This is in contrast to most of the other scripts we found online that do add their own inputs, so we will only allow the one good script we know of, it would not be feasible for us to test and examine every single new script we come across,
Therefore to make things fairer for everyone, this new rule is quite clear and simple.
We strive to ensure that simracing offers a fair and balanced experience for all participants;
Therefore while gamepad users might face challenges in achieving the same level of fine control and feedback that a force feedback (FFB) wheel provides, we’ve observed that gamepad scripts can sometimes offer an unfair advantage by artificially assisting with steering, this can result in near infinite-grip and traction levels as the script automatically compensates with hundreds of little inputs every second.
This not only disrupts the level playing field but also hinders the development of essential skills in car control and racecraft.
We hope you can understand that this rule is being implemented for the sake of fairness, simplicity, and helping rookies grow their skills.
Thanks to our community consultants who helped test various gamepad scripts and looked into what it is exactly that some of them do.
If anyone who races on controller who has previously used a script such as the ones that are not now allowed, and you are worried you may find it harder to compete now - please talk to staff and we can see if we can get you some tips and advice from other more experienced controller users who can perhaps help you adapt.
